Good News -- not pregnant!!!

Okay so that is an odd title. I went in for my procedure and we got behind because their machine for testing for pregnancy was down. And even though I assured them that I was not, because of my age and luck with getting pregnant, they had to run the test before they could do the procedure. So good news, not pregnant!

Anyway, the procedure went well. I kept waking up from anesthesia so they tell me, I have no recollection at all. I had been sniping with the anesthesiologist before the procedure, he was quite the comic. He was trying to rattle me I think but I dish it out pretty good -- especially since when I am nervous I get rather sharp witted. Actually the cardiac staff was very amusing. However the ICU staff was very serious -- no joking with them. Not that I wanted to -- I hurt way to much.

I came out of the anesthesia and had to lie perfectly still because I had a sheath in my leg (well sort of leg) My back was already achy by then but I figured I'd get some kind of pain meds and be fine. About 7 pm they pulled the sheath and had to put pressure on the vein for 20 to 25 minutes to prevent me from bleeding out. Then I had to keep the one leg perfectly still for 8 hours and I had to be flat on my back. So I got my pain meds -- 2 tylenol is all. So the next 8 hours sucked royal fat turkeys. I had all this goo in my chest from all the stuff they jammed down my throat during the procedure. And when I coughed, they completely freaked because I could blow the vein out and bleed out. So I am trying not to cough and not move the leg. And they said I could eat, but I had to be on a flat plane. So was tilted forward but flat -- kind of like Frankenstein. Such a mess! Anyway, I couldn't sleep and when 5 am rolled around and I was allowed to move, I got into a comfortable position and passed right out. I ate breakfast and took a walk (2 laps around the ward -- a record so it sounds like), took a shower, and they booted me out. I think I freaked them out because I was so young. The average age in the ICU is 70!

Anyway, I am back at home -- very sore in the muscle department -- kind of like when you work out excessively. A bit on the sleepy side. I guess because I know I don't need to listen out for Corwin or anyone else, I am sleeping like the dead. I feel pretty good today. However, I can't pick up Corwin -- he's been deemed to heavy, so he has to be handed to me once I am sitting. Kind of obnoxious, but a minor inconvenience. No diapers or anything else to deal with either.

So because I am not too sleepy right now and my office is straight, and there are no kids and I can't do any chores, I am going to scrapbook -- gasp!!!!!! Maybe I will have pages to post or I will get some Christmas presents done.

No diaper, no kids to chase what ever will you do with yourself? I bet Corwin is huge right now. I am glad that you are feeling better and everything went well. I would hate to think that Bama would be down one fan when the season starts.
