We started the year with sick people. I spent 2 consecutive Sundays at Urgent Care. (Once for Rebecca and the other for Jocelyn) Anyway, most of us had colds/sinus infections. Corwin cut his first 2 teeth.
Jocelyn had a bladder again. So that leads to the rest of a fun filled expensive year. Jocelyn is starting a daily dose of Sulfra which is the antibiotic usually given for bladder infections. She is going to have a stomach x-ray, hopefully tomorrow. The place for the x-ray is a walk in place, and so I have to hope that they can scan her in time for me to get back to Cassie's for daycare stuff. If not, I will see if there is a day next week that Chris can take her. They are looking to see if there is any type of intestinal blockages or any visible abnormalities in the bladder area causing the chronic infections and our potty training issues. Next will be the consult with a pediatric urologist and the test where they fill the bladder and watch to see if it refluxes into the kidneys or any other abnormal way. I think they called the test an ECOPS or a VCUG or something. The test will have to be done at a pediatric hospital -- my guess is PCH or Desert Banner. Unfortunately that means I am going to have to find a sub for me at work because it will be an all day thing, I am sure. If they discover severe reflux, there will be surgery to repair. If not, there may be antibiotics till she outgrows the reflux or some sort of bladder training which who knows what that entails.
I am having a really bad week with my back as well and am in near tears pain much of the time. Can't take anything for it and haven't had time to have it looked at either. I am having a big fat pitty party at my house because I am sooooooo tired and frustrated with the first 12 days of 2008. Here's to hoping for a miracle that involves only some of our money and a diagnosos for Jocelyn that does not involve surgery.
