Jocelyn has been diagnosed with Encopresis which is a fancy word for the inability to control her bowels. Basically her brain is no longer getting the relay that she has pooped and the signals are mixed up so that she has the ability to control it. We are working to get her flushed out and then we will be cautious about her diet and have to retrain her bowels. So at least no surgery for now. The risk to her is having her colon be shot and no bowel control if we don't fix it now. So my big plan is to keep a food/poop diary -- sounds yummy huh? I will just write what she eats, how often she goes, how much liquid, etc so when we go in for her appointment in April, I can show the doctor what is what, etc. Maybe we will find out if a food triggered this or developmentally it was a problem or stress or whatever. Anyway, I always say if you have time to sleep, you must not be a mom (or a wife!)
