Well we were hoping this would not be the case, but after a 2 hour visit to the urologist, it has been decided that we can either run 2 years of tests and then end up having to do surgery anyway, or we can go ahead and have surgery now and be done with urologist visits next year. She has a level 3 bladder reflux and it is inconclusive as to how much kidney damage she has. We are going to wait until to July so that she might enjoy her vacation. We are going to schedule it so that she can be recovered enough to hopefully start kindergarten in the fall.
They are assuming that she was actually born with a more severe reflux that has inproved, however because it has not resolved itself by age 4, it won't likely. If she was born with the level 3 and it is still a level 3 reflux, then it isn't repairing itself anyway.
So now we are making headway on the encopresis and we have surgery to look forward too. So I am a bit fried today and probably will be for a few more weeks. Off to my day job (daycare for only 12 today)
